School of the Day

John F. Kennedy High School
Barstow, California

Go Spartans!

THIS WAS THE FIRST SCHOOL NAMED FOR THE LATE PRESIDENT THAT CLOSED DOWN. IT EXISTED FROM 1965-78. AT THAT TIME THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAD GOTTEN SMALLER AS BAKER AND YERMO GOT THEIR OWN HIGH SCHOOLS. BARSTOW UNIFIED COULD NO LONGER BE CALLED "THE LARGEST SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE UNITED STATES."

  1. Before any of you complain to me, I know that Barstow High School was moved to the Kennedy campus and the new choice of school colors at the new school were a compromise between the new schools. Kennedy didn't really close its doors. But it ceased being Kennedy High School.
